Life takes a turn for the better!

Title: Life takes a turn for the Better!
Author:Ryna
Rating: PG 13

table/prompt: beta/joy, written for twilight20
Characters/Pairings:Jacob/Bella
Word Count: 945
Summary: Jacob’s reaction when Bella choses not to get married, or die, and comes home to him, instead.
Author’s Notes: This is what should happen instead of the wedding. It probably won’t, but a girl can dream, right?

It was the day before the wedding. Jacob had slunk back into La Push during the night. He didn’t exactly want to be home, but he didn’t want to be anywhere else in the world either. He was tired, and worn out from the running. He couldn’t stand the sight of everyone staring at him with sympathetic eyes. It was all to much, his Bella marrying another man. He hated Edward, and what he stood for. He hated that Edward was going to take away Bella’s life, her chance to truly live, feel, and breath. He was sitting on a log in the woods, leaning back against another tree, with his eyes closed. He didn’t want to be around anyone else right now. The wolf pack were all back in town, getting ready for the big day. Some of them had even abandoned him, and were planning on going to the wedding to support Bella. Of course, after the wedding they wouldn’t speak to her again, she would be an outcast from their community and it would be their last chance to say their goodbyes to her.

His mind formed images of Bella as he daydreamed. Bella pregnant, glowing with pride as she smiled at him. Bella with children, their eyes the same color as hers, little hands reaching out to her, calling her “Mommy”. Bella as a middle aged woman, tall, proud and full of wisdom and experience. These were all the ways he wanted to know Bella. He remembered her as a child, her sweat innocent face full of laughter and mischief. He remembered her as a preteen, all arms and legs, and shy as could be. He didn’t want her to stop changing, stop growing. That would mean that she was no longer human, no longer had a heart that could love, or a soul that would feel.

Jacob knew the time was close, and figured that Bella was probably doing all the girly things that happened before the wedding. She was more than likely participating in the bridal shower, and going over last minute details with Alice. Girls seemed to like that stuff way more than men. It was all something he could do without. He would give an arm and a leg to just have his Bella, no strings attached, and no worries about weddings. Course, if she wanted him, he would marry her in a heartbeat. Problem was, she didn’t want him.

Jacob heard footsteps nearby, but ignored them, keeping his eyes closed. They weren’t a danger, his senses would have alerted him to that, and they were someone familiar, but he just didn’t have the heart to take the time to figure out who they belonged to. He just hoped that whoever it was would go away, and leave him alone. He was in no mood for company, and he was afraid that he would hurt whoever it was that had come to talk to him.

A hand touched his face, and his body shivered. He couldn’t help but recognize the touch. He didn’t want to believe it however. He kept his eyes closed, and growled softly, thinking that if he ignored them, or frightened them, they would go away. And then his mind and body put two and two together and he truly knew, with every fiber of his being, who the person touching him was. His eyes flew open and his hand reached up. He couldn’t help it. He touched her face softly, and instantly took in the fact that she wasn’t wearing a ring. Or a diamond. Only her wolf bracelet that he had made her remained. He took in the fact that she had been crying, her eyes were puffy and red, and she looked far more fragile, weaker than he had ever seen her.

Tactical Advantage

Title: Tactical advantage
Author:Ryna
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Jacob/Bella
Table/Prompt:Beta/Hope
Word Count: 560
Summary: Jacob gains new hope
Author’s Notes: written for twilight20, cross posted.

We were having a tickle fight. I had Bella cornered between two walls at my house, and I was tickling her side with great pleasure. Her breath was coming out in gasps, tears of laughter were rolling down her face, and her tiny hands were balled up into fists. They were attempting to press against me, and she was trying to get away. I had her trapped, and I wasn’t going to let her go anytime soon.

I loved moments like this. Moments when we were Bella and Jake, just two ordinary best friends. She never showed any fear of what I was, the danger that I could possibly be, and I loved that about her. To Bella I would always just be Jake.

“Stop stop stop!” She begged, wiggling her body in every which direction as she tried to get away. “Jake, I can’t breath!” She was laughing so hard that she was clutching her sides.

“I’ll stop, but only if you promise to pay the price.” It was my moment to shine, a Win-Win situation for me. I was going to take every advantage that I could in my war against Edward. He couldn’t do some of the silly, fun things that we could, and I could, and would, use it to my advantage.

“What is it?” She gasped. “Whatever it is, I’ll pay it!” She was starting to slow down and not wiggle as much now, which was too bad, because the wiggling felt kind of good, if you caught my drift.

“A kiss.” I said, my voice taking on a husky growl quality. “A real, I want to kiss Jake kind of kiss.”

“But I don’t want to kiss you.” Bella protested, her body going still, frightened. It saddened me that she had no idea how much it bothered me that she didn’t like me. All I could do was consider con tactics to get what I wanted. I hoped against hope that she would give in.

“You know you do.” I whispered, my breath blowing softly against her hair. It suddenly felt like time had stopped, and we were at a turning point. It was my time now, my time to win the woman that I love.

Her eyes widened and she gazed up into my face. It was as if she had seen something that she wasn’t expecting. I’m not quite sure what she saw, but her expression softened, and her hand, the one with the bracelet on it’s wrist, raised up to my cheek.

“Jake, I …” She started, but I closed in on her mouth. All I could think about were those warm lips, within easy reach. I let my lips drift across hers, silencing her protest. I then used my lips to nibble, lick, and tease her mouth into submission. Her arms wrapped of their own occur around my neck, and she started to respond. It wasn’t much at first, but as our lips mingled I could feel them start to respond more and more. It seemed like it was forever before we finally paused for breath, our foreheads pressed against each other.

“I didn’t know it could be like that.” She whispered, her eyes locked on mine.

“It could get even better if we gave it a chance.” I winked at her, and realized suddenly that there was still hope.

Of Trucks and Dolls

Author:Ryna
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Jacob/Bell
Table/Prompt: Beta Nostalgia.
Word Count: 436
Summary: First Meetings
Author’s Notes: Beware the fluff! We all know “Bella has known Jake since birth” but what was their first meeting like? … My take on what could have happened.

Written for twilight20 prompts

Five year old Bella grumbled as she was placed on the hood of a great big red truck. It was old, dirty, and hadn’t run in years. Her father was busy talking to another man, Billy, and she was sitting on top of the hood to be kept “out of trouble”. She was, quite frankly, bored, and greatly hated both the dirt on the hood, and the spider that was crawling against the window of the truck.

She listened to her dad and his friend for a moment. They were talking about parts, grease, and what it would take to get the thing she was sitting on back in working order. All she wanted to do was get down on the ground and play, but it seemed that her dad was to busy talking to listen.

Bella turned her attention to her doll instead. Maybe she could pretend or something with it. She started making the doll dance, because it was funny to watch as the doll’s eyes flicked up and down and the arms flapped back and forth. She concentrated so hard on making the doll dance that she didn’t notice the little boy who was playing beside the truck. She also didn’t realize how close to the edge of the truck she was – and she couldn’t help but scream with disappointment when her doll fell from her arms and down on the ground. That brought her Dad and Billy’s conversation to a halt. When everyone else had turned to look at her, the little boy toddled over and picked up Bella’s doll. He waved it up in the air at her, and she snatched it from his hands.

It was twelve years later, and the same doll still sat in a place of honor on Bella’s chair in her room. Jake paused one day to pick it up and stare at it.

“You still have this old thing?” He asked, turning it over in his hands and examining it. “I remember picking it up for you when…”

“We first met.” Bella finished for him, laughing. “Yes, Jake, I still have Baby-Sue. She was my favorite doll at the time, and well, she led me to a rather important friend.”

“I wonder who that could be?” Jake deadpanned, a twinkle in his eyes.

“It was you, silly!” Bella laughed, throwing a pillow from her bed at him. “Now come back over here and finish your homework, or Billy will kick my butt cause your grades are slipping!”

Jake grinned, placed Baby-Sue back in its spot of honor, and sat down beside his Bell.

Don’t Blink

Title: Don’t Blink

paring: Bella/Jacob

Summary: Vampire Bella sees Jake after 20 years.

Disclaimer: Don’t own – not mine

He’s older. Changed. I can see that lines have formed around his eyes, his mouth. His hands look different – more worn, more fragile than when I first met him all those years ago. I couldn’t believe how warm he still was. I also couldn’t believe the smell that came from him. It was so … dog like. How was it that I had not noticed it when I was human?

“Bella” He whispered. My ears barely picked up the sound of his voice, but I knew his voice anywhere.

“Jake.” I said back softly. It took all my strength not to turn and run. My hands shook a little.

“What’s the matter, Bells?” He asked, and I couldn’t help but note that his brow still made the same adorable wrinkles it made when we were young.

“You’ve aged.” I said. It was a statement full of wonder, and curiosity. How could he age when I had been the older of the two, once upon a time. I remembered the jokes we use to have, adding up ages. Now I wanted to subtract them, and make him young again – I wanted to make him more like me.

“You blinked.” He stated softly. “Aging is a normal process, for the rest of us. Don’t blink again Bells. I’ll be gone before you know it.”

Old Blog posts

Reading some of my old stuff from my live journal – and I’m trying to determin what is worth keeping and what is worth porting over here. I think I’d like all my fan fiction and all my clips of work in one place… so I am most likely going to port it over here in some way shape or form. I’m just not sure how I want to do it yet. Should I set up a different blog for it, or should I link it up.

Always interesting when you are trying to figure out what to do with old stuff, isn’t it? I don’t want it to be gone for good, but where I don’t use LJ anymore I want to have it at my fingertips.

How do you guys keep old blog information?
